MAC makeup test

I purchased a couple of MAC products recently and have been testing them out these last couple of weeks. I've never used anything by MAC before and was curious to see if I would have success using their makeup. Since I started wearing makeup when I was a teen I always had issues with eyeliner and mascara running down my face within an hour after applying my eye makeup. I have tried so many brands and nothing seemed to work for me.... Until now! MAC's black track fluidline works great on me! My eyeliner stayed put for over seven hours the first time I used it. Even when it started to smudge a bit it was hardly any damage done which is a great relief compared to my eyeliner usually running shortly after applying it. It would make me look like a goth chick with way to much eyeliner running down my face! This is not me making fun of goth girls in anyway it's just that I never intended for my makeup to look gothic therefore it shouldn't! A tip to keep in mind is to make sure that when your applying the fluidline eyeliner that you give it time to dry before messing with it. I noticed that when I started reapplying more eyeliner on the area that I've already applied and didn't wait for it to dry my eyeliner would begin to smear in a couple hours. So remember to have patience grasshopper. I had myself a Karate Kid moment... moving on! I also tried MAC's Opulash Optimum Black mascara which not only didn't smear it also made my lashes not look clumpy the way other mascaras have. All in all I feel that these two MAC products are worth purchasing if you have the same issues with eyeliner and mascara running down your face like I use to.

Day to Night SpArKlEs!

Left: Daytime look Right: Nighttime look

My life seems to consist of me packing almost every weekend. Even though my boyfriend and I live in the same city the commute is not exactly ideal and sometimes can take up to an hour to get to each others places. My boyfriend lives in NoHo and I live in west LA, the commute can be stressful so instead of stressing out about traffic we usually will plan in advance whether he will be coming my way or if I will be staying with him over the weekend. I usually stay at his place mainly because my upstairs neighbors are ridiculously loud especially around 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning. They are the worst! Since my boyfriend and I both like to sleep in on the weekends his place is usually ideal. I've been packing a weekend bag almost every weekend for over a year now and have come to the conclusion that when it comes to packing I need to pack lighter and pack pieces that can easily be used for daytime wear as well as going out on the town at night. Today's blog is an example of doing just that. I hope this post inspires you to pack pieces that can easily be used for several different outfits the next time you find yourself needing to pack for a weekend get away.

DIY Gift Giving for Dudes

Happy Thursday! Today's blog is about gift giving for that special guy in your life. As a girl who loves to craft and thinks that homemade gifts are the most meaningful gifts I often think about what type of DIY gifts would be perfect for particular people in my life. One thing that I struggle with is creating gifts for male family members or my boyfriend that wouldn't be considered girly. So for my boyfriend Brian's birthday this year I made him his very own Man Stuff (box). I didn't actually build the box myself, I am not Ron Swanson. I purchased the box at Michael's along with the paint brushes, acrylic paint, gel medium- Liquidex, sponge brushes, modge podge, sand paper and clear coat sealer. I drew the baseball and football helmet and used stencils for the lettering, shark and spider on the lid of the box. I transferred laser jet images onto the box along all four sides of the box. If you click on the DIY section of my blog and scroll down to DIY Wood Transfers I have provided instructions on how to transfer the laser jet images onto wood. After I created the box I filled it with a bunch of goodies that I know my babe loves. Below are some pictures of Brian's super manly Man Box.

Coffee, Dark Chocolate and Beer! I know the way to a mans heart.

Boom! There you have it Man Box by Mae Robbins. Now you too can create a super cool man box for the super stud in your life. More posts coming your way soon! Until next time!

San Diego Zoo

Hi Folks! Happy Humpday. Half way into the work week just two more days until TGIF! Since it is only Wednesday I will not jump for joy just yet. I will however share with all of you a fun trip Brian and I took recently to the San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo is by far my favorite zoo I have ever visited. There's so much to see that there is actually two different zoo's you could visit. The San Diego Zoo which has hundreds of animals to feast your eyes on and the Safari Park which has a lot of birds and animals that are based in Africa. We decided on the good old San Diego Zoo, we were members of the zoo for a year but unfortunately our memberships have expired recently. (Sigh) I guess that means we have to renew them! Aw Yeah! Below are some pics of some of the animals we were able to visit with during our latest adventure to the SDZ. Yes I meant to say visited because we were able to sit down and have a cup of tea with the animals and discuss world politics, jazz music and Scientology... Just Kidding!

The beautiful greenery.

Boom! Animaltastic! I hope you guys enjoyed my zoo pics. More posts coming your way soon. Until next time have a wonderful day and a funtastic night!

Out and About

Hi friends, Happy fun filled Friday! Or it can also be fend for yourself Friday which is what I told one of my co-workers when he asked if I was going to Starbucks this morning. Now I know that was a tad bit mean but what can I say I'm not a morning person.

Today's post is an outfit post. It's an outfit I wore recently to run errands and grab some lunch for my babe and me. It's pretty much one of my favorite ways to dress when I'm just running around town getting things done.. you know lady things. Below are some pics of the outfit. I hope ya'll enjoy it and let me know what ya think.

80's Prom Night

Hi friends, happy thirsty Thursday! I hope everyone had a productive and stress free work week. I am very happy that tomorrow is Friday and I'm sure most of you will agree with me when I say TGIF! Speaking of TGIF I kind of miss it. Family Matters was definetly my favorite show followed by Full House as my second favorite.

Anywho, it's totally like me to ramble on about random things before getting to the topic at hand. Today's blog is about a fun night out on the town my babe and some of his pals and I had recently. We went to the House of Blues for their 80's Prom Night they were hosting at their West Hollywood location. It was a fun night but kind of hilarious. When we showed up in our 80's gear we were greeted by a room of people staring at us like we were crazy. Most people were not dressed up and the other half kind of well... half ass it. We literally looked like we were straight from the 80's we literally brought the 80's to the party. Without us their would have been no party... well at least not a 1980's party. Despite the awkward entrance we ended up having a good time and everyone really liked our outfits and took pics of all of us and took pics with us. It was like we were famous or something. We kind of were big deals that night! Anywho below are some pics from our night on the town 80's style!

Brian: Miami Vice hunk Me: Metallica Chick

Well that's all she wrote... literally! bahahha!
I hope you guys had a totally fantaboulous time checking out my bitchin 80's pics. Until next time later days homefry's!

St. Patty's

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a very happy St. Patty's day.

To celebrate the holiday I created a St. Patty's day t-shirt with a little twist. I know we have all seen the typical St. Patrick's day shirt that usually says "Kiss Me I'm Irish." I thought I would take that saying and run with it by making it my own.  I come from a mixed background, on my fathers side my Grandma was Irish and my Grandfather was English. On my mothers side my Grandmother is Japanese and Filipiniana and my Grandfather came from Madrid Spain. So I figured I would just put it all out there and say "KISS ME I'M SPANISH, FILIPINIANA, JAPANESE, ENGLISH... OH, OH YEAH! & IRISH!"I mean in order for my to be completely honest there's more than one reason to kiss me. Ha, Ha! I'm just kidding!

Below are some pics of the outfit I wore on Saint Partick's day.

T-shirt: Homemade, Purse: Can't remember the store name but somewhere on Melrose, Skirt: American Apparel,          Socks: Old Navy, Shoes: Journey, Bracelets: Handmade by ME!

Well that's that! Hope you like my one of a kind St. Patty's day t-shirt! More posts to come your way soon! Thanks for stopping by!
