Fall Wishlist

Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend? I had a good weekend for the most part. I got in touch with my inner chef. That's right no microwaving for this girl... well at least not this past weekend. I watched the UFC fights with my babe on Saturday and watched Da Bears win in overtime against the Super bowl champs The Baltimore Ravens. Since the Detroit Lions lost to the Steelers on Sunday Da Bears and the Lions are tied for first... again! Woohoo!

Today's post is my fall wishlist. All the things I would buy if I woke up tomorrow with a few extra dollars in my bank account. I am loving mustard yellow and emerald green this fall. Riding boots are a must have for day to day casual wear and a cross body bag is a go to for me. It's stylish and can be used for day or evening. At least I like to think so. :)

Winter Coats

Happy Thirsty Thursday! I enjoyed a yummy glass of Gatorade G2 Perform the grape flavor. I like this particular Gatorade because it's lower calorie than regular Gatorade and tastes delicious. What about you guys, any delicious drinks worth indulging in today?

Today's post is about trying to find the perfect winter coat. I feel I need to state the obvious that when you live in SOCAL you don't need a super thick Eskimo looking coat. I do however need a coat to keep me warm on nights when my faux leather jackets just wont do the trick. I found five drool worthy coats while I was browsing online. I would love to hang all of these coats up in my closest. Please let me know what you think of my finds.

  • Left: MANGO/Military Style Wool Blend Trench Coat - $189.99
  • Top Right: DKNY/DKNY Jeans Pieced Trench Coat - $179.50
  • Bottom Right: Zara/Combined Faux Leather Coat in camel - $179.00

  • Left: Nordstrom/ Kristen Blake/Skirt Back Peacoat - $179.90
  • Right: Express EXPRESS/Asymmetrical Knit Trimmed Wool Blend Coat - $138.60

On the hunt for the perfect black blazer

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did for the most part. Brian and I enjoyed some delicious sushi, went bowling and watched football. Unfortunately my Chicago Bears lost to the Detroit Lions and now the Lions are number one in the NFC North (ugh). Any who enough about football or else I will go on a 90 minute rant.

Today's post is about finding the perfect black blazer. I realized that I don't have a fitted black blazer in my wardrobe. It's such a practical piece and I can't believe I don't already own one. I do have a black boyfriend blazer but not a chic fitted black blazer that hits me right around my waste. So I did some online browsing and found four black blazers that might just make the cut. Let me know what you think.

  • top left - Express/One Button Studio Stretch Jacket - $98
  • top right - Zara/Studio Blazer Coat - $189
  • bottom left - J. Crew/Collection Ryan Blazer - $350
  • bottom right - Nordstrom/Satin trim crepe tuxedo jacket - $128

Seven Days of Jewels - Day 7

Happy Sunday fun day! I hope everyone is having a funtastic day. I am having a frustrating day. My Chicago Bears lost today (insert butt hurt face here). The Bears starting quarterback is injured and two very important defensive players are also injured. UGH! I'm one angry Bear cub right now! (sigh) Alright I'm going to get it together in5,4,3,2....

Anywho! Today is officially the last day of my Seven Days of Jewels challenge. I mainly did this because I am known to be a sporadic blogger which defeats the purpose of having a blog. I wanted to go with the topic of jewelry because I know that this topic is something I am passionate about. I love costume jewelry and of course I love making handmade jewels as well. For the last post for my Seven Days of Jewels I am going with yesterdays theme of earrings. I noticed that I don't really have any studs or a wide variety of different earring types in my collection. Below I created a collage of earrings I have found online that is definitely apart of my wishlist.

Earring list:

Anthropologie: Tonique Dagger Drops $178
Emma Stine: Enameled Foxy Buttons with Crystal Nose $34
Betsey Johnson: Imperial Rose Heart Earring Purple $30
Stella and Dot: Serenity Small Stone Drops $34

There you have it! My latest list of lovely earrings that I wouldn't mind adding to my plethora of jewelry. More posts to come next week.

Best,
Mae

Seven Days of Jewels

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. I had a fantastic weekend, I went to my first ever Haunted House! We took a trip to Pomona and  went to Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare. I was very jumpy and I might of ran away from a couple of the creatures that were lurking around looking for scaredy cat victims just like me! Even though I don't have anything to compare it to since it was my first ever haunted house experience it was pretty darn good! They also had really delicious chicken kabobs (I know oh so random). If you live around the SO CAL area I would definitely recommend taking a trip to Pomona to check it out. I don't recommend taking your kids though especially if  your kiddo's are under the age of thirteen. If any of you have ever watched any of Rob Zombies movies you know that there often is horror and a lot of raunchiness. So don't expect Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare to be anything less than one of his Rated-R movies.

Now onto a completely different subject! This week I am going to be posting all about my love for jewelry! For the next seven days I am going to be posting pics of online jewelry finds that I love, jewelry that I own and adore and some of my homemade pieces as well. Today I will start off day one with some pieces that I am obsessing over online. I love statement pieces especially bold necklaces and bracelets. Below are a few of the items that I wish I could add to my own collection.

All of these items can be found on  http://www.lulus.com/  From left: Jewel's Paradise Blue Rhinestone Necklace, A Twist of the Wrist Gold Bracelet & Gleaming Gumdrops Orange and Black Rhinestone Necklace. Price ranges for these item's range from $15-$18. Such great pieces without breaking the bank! I love, love, love these pieces!

All of these jewels can be found on http://www.emmastine.com/ From left: Rivierra Necklace in Verdent Shimmer, Crystal Lilly Bracelet in Turquoise & Diana Crystal Necklace Set. The price ranges for these gorgeous gems are from $38-$68. A little more pricey but beautiful pieces none the less. I think these pieces would be great paired up with a LBD. Just the right amount of sparkle to turn any ordinary outfit into something unique and oh so shiny!

I hope you ladies enjoyed my jewelry picks. I will be posting more jewelry fun tomorrow!

Best,
Mae

BIRTHDAY WISH LIST

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a FUNtastic weekend and are alert and ready for the work week. I for one am still a bit sleepy and needing to recover from the insane heat that we had over the weekend.

This little dude knows how I feel.

On a completely new topic I wanted to share with all of you my top five items on my birthday list. Woot, Woot! Although my birthday isn't until September 23rd but if you read one of my earlier posts called Money Saving Challenge you might remember that I am not allowed to shop for myself until November. I figured why not pick out some gifts that my family might want to buy me since I am not allowed to spend a dime on myself.

Item #1

Monsters of the Midway T-shirt

http://www.ladyfanatics.com/NFL_Chicago_Bears_Ladies/Chicago_Bears_Ladies_Premium_Hi-Lo_Hem_Game_Day_Tri-Blend_T-Shirt_-_Ash

I absolutely adore this shirt. I am a huge Chicago Bears fan and this shirt is both adorable and totally bad ass! I would love to rock out in this t-shirt every Sunday. I love the vintage feel and it looks super soft & cozy.

Item # 2

Vintage Zip-up hoodie

http://www.ladyfanatics.com/NFL_Chicago_Bears_Ladies/Mitchell_And_Ness_Chicago_Bears_Ladies_Navy_Blue_Arch_Rivals_Full_Zip_Hoodie_Sweatshirt

I love, love this hoodie! It looks warm & comfy. I love the blue and white stripes on the sleeves, I also love the Vintage lettering. I am a big fan of zip up hoodies I find them to be perfect for SO CAL weather.

Item #3

Steve Madden handbag

http://www.stevemadden.com/Item.aspx?id=63160&np=424_556

This bag is perfect for me. It's large enough for me to use for work and the color will go great for the fall... Even though our fall isn't until November and it's still more like upper 70's and 80's as far as the weather is concern but still it's great for fall! It's simple but chic. It has some cute little extras but for the most part it is practical which is what I go for during the work week.

Item #4

Brother Sewing Machine

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Brother-2600I-Free-Sewing-Machine/4764723

This sewing machine is great for beginners. It allows you to do all of the normal sewing projects such as making pillows, pillow cases, curtains and much more. It has also been given pretty decent reviews and is very affordable.

Item #5

Cowboy Booties - LuLus

 http://www.lulus.com/products/soda-west-light-brown-harness-mid-calf-cowgirl-boots/53111.html

I stinking love these! Oh man, I wish I found these before I bought my cowboy boots last year. These are way cuter than mine. I would wear these with so many different outfits. I would probably even wear them in my sleep.

So there ya go! That's my top 5 items on birthday list. Even if I receive just one of the items off my list I would be pretty ecstatic. Have a wonderful day everyone! Until next time.
