7 Days of DIY - Day 1 Simple bead & wire necklace

I have a new project to introduce today. I am going to post easy DIY projects all week long. For me the best way to learn a new craft is by having simple instructions and follow along images.

Today's post is a tutorial I put together showing how easy it is to create a simple beaded necklace that is attached to a wire head pin. Take a peak at the how to instructions below and please leave me a comment if you have any questions.

I got the blues

Today' post is about holding onto items that you just can't seem to let go of. For instance I have had this blue long sleeve dress for almost four years now and I still love wearing it especially around fall/winter. I also have had my Steve Madden Mary Jane's for almost five years. They definitely have some wear and tear to them but they are still comfy and I still find them to be oh so cute. What can I say somethings I just can't let go of. I say if you still love it, it still fits, you still wear it and you don't look like a homeless person (like from all the stains and holes from your favorite old t-shirt) than I say keep it. If I was rocking a pair of MC Hammer pants than maybe don't take my advice but until that day I think my advice is a O.K. :)

Leopard & Red

Today's post is featuring a leopard pattern top from Express. Leopard is a popular trend that I love. I like using leopard to ascent an outfit & to give it a little extra flare. I like using leopard the way I like using my favorite color yellow in an outfit. I don't like using it all over, it might look a bit oh how do you say... like a hot mess! Using leopard to compliment an outfit is a FUNtastic idea. Just like with everything else in life... everything is good in moderation. :)

Pandas & Burgandy, Oh My!

Today's post is about an outfit I wore around the holidays when I was visiting some of my family in San Diego. My brother Lance took the pictures for me which was a big help. I have mentioned in an earlier post that I love burgundy for fall and winter outfits. So it's no surprise that I put together yet another post featuring another burgundy piece. I love this burgundy infinity scarf. It's really soft and gives my outfit a little extra pop! I also love my Panda shirt I'm wearing that my brother Lance bought for me one year for Christmas. Thanks brother!

Just for fun. :)

New Year's Celebration

Happy New Year Everyone! I'm hoping this year will be the year that I shine in every aspect of my life. I've been thinking of my new years resolution and goals to help me improve on some things that are not so balanced in my life. I hope every one of you were able to celebrate on New Year's Eve and were surrounded by friends and loved ones. Brian and I had a great time sharing laughs and drinks with friends. We got to meet our friends Helen and Jason's new puppy Jameson who is just too cute for words. He looks like to teddy bear! We also got to count down the new year with our very own new years ball drop thanks to Helen and Jason's neighbor's, very creative! We also went out to The Federal (NOHO) for a little dancing... and some people watching. I hope that didn't sound creepy but I'm not much of a club girl so when I am in that environment I tend to like to watch the drunken sloppy mess surrounding me. It makes me giggle especially when you spot a random shoe at the bar and panties left just chilling in the ladies room. Oh good times! Another fun element from our New Year's celebration was when one of our friends brought wish paper. We all got a piece of wish paper (reminds me of tissue paper) wrote our wishes, crinkled them in our hands and created a cylinder like shape to stand them up on the ground (outside) and burned the paper from the top and once the paper turns to ashes it floats in the air and you have to catch it and blow the ashes away to make your wish. So cute! Stinking adorable!

Below are some pictures of Brian and I on New Years.

Stay classy - Burgundy Style

Today's post is one of my fall favorites, my burgundy long sleeve dress from ASOS. I love the color burgundy for fall/winter. I also love how comfy casual this dress is. Comfort is huge for me! I don't like to constantly be tugging and pulling on what I'm wearing. If I don't feel comfortable and  confident in an outfit than I don't wear it. It just sits in my closet until I finally come to the realization that I should part with the uncomfortable item that doesn't make me feel self assure.

Fall & Florals... yes please.

Happy thirsty Thursday! Today I indulged in a delicious glass of root beer. I try to stay away from soda pop but today I gave in and loved every sip. What yummy beverage have you guys enjoyed lately?

Today's outfit is centered around a dress from Forever 21. It's a sweet dress with great fall colors and a girly floral pattern. When I first tried this dress on it brought me back to when I was in college. Not that I would roam around campus in an outfit like this. I more so would wear a hoodie and jeans like everyone else but the colors and how comfy this dress is reminded me of the most ultimate fall day. One of my fondest memories of living on campus was centered around fall.Walking along the bridge from the towers/dorms and seeing all of the trees and their leaves changing colors as I would take my morning stroll to my first class of the day (sigh) was so peaceful and made me all warm & fuzzy. Aw, memories!
