Rocky Mountain High - Adult diapers... nah!

Hello Everyone! Once again I am taking my sweet time to update my blog. Unfortunately my laptop is out of commission at the moment aka I dropped my laptop onto my kitchen floor and now I need to take it in to get repaired. I am currently researching the most inexpensive and sufficient repair options. So for now I am only updating my blog when I am able to use my boyfriends computer (he's the sweetest!).

Enough about my problems and on to something more exciting! This blog post is part 2 of my Colorado trip. My best friend Angie and her husband Justin took me to Heritage Square in Golden Colorado. This little village has Victorian style buildings, lots of games and rides for the kiddos but the main attraction is their Alpine Slide.

The Alpine Slide is a 1/2 mile track where you grab a sled and slide down the mountain. When I was heading towards the ticket booth I felt a sense of fear and intimidation come over me. The slide looked so far away and I thought to myself "This shit can't be safe." I also was afraid that I might pee myself. I know that sounds strange for a grown up to say that she might pee herself while going down a slide but ever since I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis I have avoided any amusement park rides or thrill seeker rides. The fact is that something so simple like driving in a car can triggered the sensation to need to tinkle. This happens when I feel that I'm too close to the vehicle in front of me. I get the urgency to need to go numero uno. Trust me I know how weird what I'm saying sounds to someone who doesn't have this condition but this is something that I have had to deal with for almost a year now and it's almost a normalcy to me. I'm sure you could understand now why I'm avoiding any thrill seeker rides since even riding in a car makes me need to go! It's not as if I thought I was going to pee to the extent where my shorts are drenched but I thought I might tinkle a little which is embarrassing enough.

So after we bought our tickets we had to take a chair lift up to the top of the mountain. The chair lift alone was scary. It was old and beat up and I was praying to skinny Buddha, chubby Buddha, baby Jesus and grown man Jesus that we wouldn't fall to our death. Once we got to the top I was contemplating which slide to take. There was a slide for kids and intermediate and it was suggested that any beginners should definitely take that slide. The second slide was the advance slide which is for grownups and anyone who is a pro. I chose to go down the intermediate slide and honestly I didn't feel like I got my moneys worth. I shouldn't of allowed my bladder to get the best of me and I should of been more bad ass and taken the advanced slide. I guess I shouldn't of allowed myself to get so intimidated but oh well I know better for next time. Note to self I do not need adult diapers just yet no need to take a trip to Costco and load up on Depends this girl is good... for now.

Below are some pics or Heritage Square and The Alpine Slide. Enjoy.

Hamster ride for kids... I found this to be a bit disturbing.

Me freaking out while waiting in line to buy my ticket for the Alpine Slide. Major Wus face right now.

Left: Heading up to the Alpine Slide. Right: The finish line.

About to take off. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

One last view of the Alpine Slide.

So that was our Alpine Slide adventure! Until next time!

Best,
Mae
